Claudino "Claude" Nuanes

It is with great sadness the family of Claudino “Claude” Nuanes announces his passing on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the age of 81.

He was born on September 24, 1938 in Albuquerque, NM to his parents Estanislado Nuanes and Andrellita (Montoya) Nuanes. He retired from the City of Albuquerque after 25 years serving as the Assistant Superintendent of the City’s Animal Control Center. After retirement Claudino moved to California where, he owned and operated a Professional Limo and Taxi Company until he returned to Albuquerque in 2014.  

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brother’s Leo Nuanes and Flavio Nuanes.  

Claudino will forever be remembered by his daughter, Anna Nuanes, sons Charles Nuanes and wife Yvette, James Nuanes and wife Marie, grandchildren, Jamie and husband Steve Montano, Charles J. Nuanes, great-grandchildren Shawn and Brooklyn Montano. Claudino is lovingly remembered by his best friend and caretaker, Angeles Rosales, his sisters, Regina Lucero, Toni Proctor, brothers, Ignacio Nuanes and wife Eloisa, Albert Jackson and wife Hilia in addition to many other nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones. 

Claudino never let his health issues define him. He pushed through life's challenges with amazing strength, courage, and grace as he defied the odds. He will be sorely missed by so many and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. His kindness and generosity were a gift to all of the lives he touched, always putting others before his own needs.

Claudino's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 8:30 am at San Jose Mission Catholic Church located at 2110 Los Lucero’s Rd NW, 87104. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am. Mass will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Reception will take place at the San Jose Church Hall.

Pallbearers will be Charles Nuanes, George Montoya, Jerry Nuanes, Frank Jackson, John Jackson, Steve Montano.

Honorary Pallbearers will Anna Nuanes, Brooklyn Montano, and Shawn Montano, Jamie Montano.
