Fidel E. Pacheco Sr. Obituary

Fidel E Pacheco Sr, aged 84, passed away on July 6, 2018. He was born on November 30, 1933 in Los Valdezes, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Bertha, brothers Lee and George.

He is survived by his immediate family, wife of 57 years Patricia Pacheco, sons: Juan and wife Geneva, F. Elias Jr., Nicholas, Andrew,  daughters: Christina and husband Richard, Yvonne, Joanna, and Mary Frances, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Fidel Proudly served in the United States Navy. Exemplifying there code of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to camp, fish and hunt. He brought up his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in the outdoors. He suffered a stroke in October 2016  while elk hunting in Laguna Larga in northern NM. He never fully recovered, but he would smile, shake your hand and hug you as best he could. Fidel was a very religious humble man, an hermano and he taught RCIA at San Felipe Church along with his wife Patricia and they were among other mayordomos/caretakers of San Jose de Los Duranes Church for over 25 years. Fidel and Patricia always took in, fed and helped anyone in need in the community of Los Duranes and elsewhere when needed. Fidel helped start the Society of San Jose and the children’s Easter egg hunts.

Fidel’s Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe located at 1860 Griegos Rd NW. Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 9:00 am also at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Pacheco, Richard Romero Jr., Orlando Pacheco, Eli Pacheco, Adrian Romero, and Cameron Grant. Honorary pallbearers will be Louie Barreras and Janelle Romero.

Special thanks to daughter Yvonne, Christina and grandson Orlando (who grandpa called “Baby Gorilla”), whom Fidel stayed with during his difficult trials, Hermanos Penitentes de Nuestro Padre Jesus for praying many rosaries with Fidel, and the staff of Legacy Home Health Care.
