Francisquita "Frances" Sedillo Obituary

Our beautiful loving wife/mother/grandmother/great-grandmother/sister/aunt/cousin/friend, Francisquita “Frances” Baca Sedillo, has led the way to heaven, transitioning into everlasting peace on the morning of November 12, 2019 at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Demetrio and Julia Baca, and her brother, Johnny Baca.

She leaves behind her husband, Raymond Sedillo; her daughter, Geraldine “Geri” Word; and grandchildren, Dominic, Rozlynne, Rochelle; her great-grandchildren, Francesca and Myles; along with her loving stephchildren and grandchildren, Deborah Primosch and husband Joe; Michael Sedillo, wife Gina and children Joshua, Melissa, and Jilinda; Robert Sedillo wife Kim and children Ryan and Brittany; Laura Sedillo and children Zachery and Jessica. Her brother, Junior and wife Gloria, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and other family members were all very important to her.   We were blessed with her profound love of God, love for her family, and her love of life.  Frances was a devoted Catholic and extremely faithful.  She went to church every Sunday to say “Thank You” for all her blessings.

Frances, who was a strong-minded individual “true to who she was” was born in Socorro, New Mexico on May 15, 1937.  Shortly after, the family moved to Albuquerque where she was raised. She spent countless days during the year and many summers in Socorro growing up and considered Socorro her second home.

She worked at La Hacienda Restaurant in Old Town before working for Mountain Bell where she retired. Her co-workers became her life-long friends.

She had a vibrant sense of humor and a heart that was open to anyone in need. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mom, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, godmother, cousin and friend who will never be forgotten.  Frances’ faith sustained her through her days, especially the difficult times in her life.  She welcomed all into her home, always made you feel loved, and made sure to feed you before you left!  Her devotion to her family will stay with all of us who loved her and cared for her. Her love and devotion to Our Lord was pure and true.  Those of us left behind will hold her close to our hearts forever and we will keep her memory alive.

Frances' Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 6:00 pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar Mortuary. Mass will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church located at 2005 North Plaza NW. Graveside Service will follow at Mt.
