Georgina Sai Obituary

Georgina Sai, age 86, passed away in the caring and loving community of Spanish Trails Rehabilitation Suites on Friday, January 18, 2019.

She was born on December 7, 1932 in Sendai, Japan. Georgina was born and raised in Japan before journeying to the United States with her older sister, Keiko. Georgina worked as a lab technician in Houston, Texas for many years. Georgina always spoke of her fond memories in Houston; often reminiscing with loved one’s about her wild adventures. Georgina moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico to be with Kay in the early 90’s. Shortly after, she moved to Cloudcroft, New Mexico where she worked as a Nanny for nearly two decades. Georgina was resilient, nurturing, caring, and feisty. She was filled with vivid memories of an incredible life and had the ability to listen to just about anyone. She brought love and light to all of those around her including her many friends in Houston, her sister, niece, and family whom she lived with in Cloudcroft. She became much more than a Nanny: she was a member of the family and touched the hearts of many with her loving spirit. Georgina was an avid lover of birds, kokopelli’s, and coffee. She was gentle yet stern, loving yet feisty, and above all a woman of love and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Kay (Keiko) Cordero as well as multiple siblings that continue to reside in Japan.

She is survived by her niece, Kristin Brown (Cordero), her husband Douglas, grand-nephew Phillip Wilkinson and grand-niece Sarah Wilkinson. She is also survived by her surrogate family, of whom she loved deeply, Mark and Lisa Streander, Aspen Ware, Michala Streander and Natalie Streander. Georgina will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
