Alicia Torres de Zubiate, affectionately known as Licha, was born on November 16, 1959, and departed from this world on Friday, June 6, 2025. Licha lived a life rich with passion and purpose, impacting all those who had the privilege to know her with her warmth and vivacity.

She was preceded by her beloved son Javier Zubiate, parents: Margarita and Pedro Torres, sisters: Cuca Torres, and Juana Torres.

Alicia is survived by her husband of 40 years Nicolás Zubiate; daughters: Karla Zubiate, Karina Mansfield Zubiate, Karen Zubiate; cherished grandchildren: Miguel Chavira Zubiate, Lorena Zubiate, Oskar Zubiate, and Emrie Zubiate; brother Jesus Torres; and beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A devoted wife, mother, and a cherished figure in her community, Licha found her greatest joy in her husband, home and children, which she proudly regarded as her most significant accomplishments. Her dedication to taking care of her family and nurturing a loving environment was evident in everything she did. She embraced her role with a sense of pride and fulfillment, understanding that her home was not just a place but a sanctuary filled with love and kindness.

An avid fashionista, Licha had an eye for style that extended to her home decor as well. She enjoyed shopping for clothes and holiday decor, building a collection that truly reflected her vibrant personality. Her creative spirit shone brightly in her cooking, where she delighted in preparing meals that brought families together, embodying her love language through food. Licha loved hosting gatherings, always welcoming others with open arms and a generous heart.

Life's simple pleasures brought Licha immense joy; she was fond of gardening, where she found peace among blooming flowers, and indulging in entertaining novelas during cozy nights. Her true spirit radiated when she visited Mexico, embracing her heritage in a way that connected her to her roots. Licha also enjoyed the excitement of going to the casino with her husband, where the thrill was matched only by her infectious enthusiasm.

As a devoted Catholic, Licha found solace in her faith, which guided her through life's journeys. Her love for music, especially cumbias and mariachi, brightened celebrations, filling her home with joyous sounds and creating unforgettable memories.

Alicia Torres de Zubiate leaves behind a legacy of love, tireless dedication, and cherished moments that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the joy she carried will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Alicia's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 8:00am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW. 87102. Viewing will be held at 8:30am. Mass will be held at 10:00am at San Jose Parish located at 2401 Broadway Blvd SE, 87102. She will laid to rest following the Mass at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery located at 924 Menaul Blvd NE, 87107.

Pallbearers will be Ricardo Zubiate, Tomas Olivas, Kevin Ruiz, Marcus Mansfield, Arturo Canedo, David Ortiz.

Alicia Torres de Zubiate, conocida cariñosamente como Licha, nació el 16 de noviembre de 1959 y falleció el 6 de junio de 2025. Licha vivió una vida llena de pasión y propósito, impactando con su calidez y vivacidad a todos quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla.

Le precedieron en la muerte su amado hijo Javier Zubiate, sus padres Margarita y Pedro Torres, y sus hermanas Cuca Torres y Juana Torres.
