Born on February 22, 1935, Naschitti, New Mexico, Angie's life was a tapestry of vibrant moments and cherished memories. Her loving nature and thoughtful presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. Angie’s passions were as colorful and diverse as the beads she intricately wove into her creations. She found solace in the rhythmic dance of her crochet hooks, and her hands were rarely still as she crafted beautiful pieces that warmed the hearts and homes of her loved ones. In addition to beading and crochet, Angie had a deep love for sewing—skillfully stitching garments, quilts, and keepsakes that carried her warmth and care. Her creativity knew no bounds. This love for creating was only matched by her enjoyment of watching television, where she would lose herself in the worlds of her favorite actor, Elvis Presley.

A true child of nature, Angie took great pleasure in tending to her yard, her hands nurturing the earth as she cultivated a haven for the hummingbirds she so loved. The sight of these delicate creatures flitting about brought a smile to her face and joy to her heart. Angie's love for the outdoors extended to her fondness for road trips, where she reveled in the beauty of the scenery passing by her window, always eager to discover new horizons. In the kitchen, Angie was unrivaled, especially when it came to her delicious fry bread, succulent mutton ribs, homemade tamales, and comforting blue mush. Her sweet tooth was legendary, and dessert was always a highlight at family gatherings. Angie's culinary skills were a testament to her tradition and an expression of her love for those she held dear.

Angie deeply loved and cherished her brothers and sisters. Family was at the heart of everything she did, and the bond she shared with her siblings was unbreakable. Whether it was through laughter, support, or simply being present, Angie brought warmth, kindness, and strength into their lives. Her devotion to her family was evident in every conversation, every memory, and every moment shared. She took great pride in being a sister and held each of them close to her heart throughout her life. Above all, Angie's grandchildren were the epicenter of her world. She dedicated herself to their well-being, always placing their needs above her own without a hint of complaint. To them, she was more than a grandmother; she was a guardian, a teacher, and a constant source of unconditional love.

Angie's motivation to teach her family about their Native culture was something very dear to her. Throughout her home, one could find a collection of angel figurines and knickknacks, each piece a silent sentinel of her enduring faith and strength. These treasures were a reflection of Angie's spirit, a woman who navigated life's challenges with grace and resilience. Angie was the embodiment of love, thoughtfulness, and wisdom. Her legacy is one of selflessness and devotion, a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. Her strength, unwavering even in the face of adversity, will remain a cornerstone of the many lives she touched. As we bid farewell to Angie B. Loretto, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by kindness, generosity, and the countless moments of joy she bestowed upon us. Her memory will be treasured in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her, and her spirit will live on, as vibrant and enduring as the hummingbirds she so cherished.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Presbyterian Hospice team and facility at Manzano Del Sol, as well as the dedicated staff members who provided compassionate care and support during Angie’s final days.
