Annabelle Maria Chavez, age 71, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 15, 2018 surrounded by family, including her son Filemon, her sisters, nieces and nephews.

‘Anna’ was preceded in death by her parents Filemon and Roberta Chavez; brother, Arturo (age 3), adult brothers, Arthur Chavez and Richard Chavez; brother-in-law Guadalupe S. Sosa.

She is survived by her most beloved son Filemon Chavez; Sisters Clydine Sosa and Phyllis Mitchell, and husband Doug; sister-in-law Susan Chavez, as well aunts, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

‘Anna’ was a devoted mother, sister, niece, aunt, great-aunt and friend who was loved by so many people.

‘Anna’ loved game night with the family and had a true mastery of making sweet rice and birthday cakes from scratch. After her mother’s passing she continued to host Sunday Morning Breakfast at the house she shared with her mother and son on the family land which is fondly referred to as the “Chavez Compound.” The Chavez compound holds 3 different homes for 3 different generations of the Chavez family, the land where the Chavez family has lived since the 1940’s.

Anna's Life Celebration will begin with a Mass on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 9:00 am at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Reception to follow at Doug and Phyllis Mitchell’s home.
