Baldemar Hernandez, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the age of 79.

Baldemar was survived by his wife Ofelia Hernandez, sons, daughters, and grandkids.

Born on May 9, 1945, in Agua Caliente, Mexico, Baldemar's life was one of love, humor, and great advice given through the years with an amazing devotion to his family. His presence was a warm embrace to all who knew him, and his absence leaves a void that will be felt deeply by his loved ones.

A man of simple pleasures, Baldemar found joy in the timeless tales spun in classic western movies. His laughter filled the room as the good guys triumphed, and the lines between right and wrong were as clear as the black and white films he cherished. The vibrant strums of mariachi and the soulful voice of Vicente Fernandez could often be heard resonating through the walls of his home, as Baldemar celebrated his cultural heritage with a deep passion for Spanish music.

The aromas of home-cooked made Baldemar happy, empanadas and tamales were some of his favorite dishes to eat. He delighted in the act of sharing a meal, considering it one of life's greatest pleasures and an opportunity to gather his family around the table, which was the cornerstone of his world.

Baldemar's legacy is defined by his roles as a devoted husband, a loving father, and an adoring grandfather. He found his calling in life within the hearts of his family, striving every day to be the best he could be for them. His guidance and wisdom were the compass by which his family navigated life's challenges, and his wit was the light that brightened their days.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Baldemar would describe him as a jokester, lovable, and wise. His wisdom was a treasure, dispensed with humility and grace.

As we bid farewell to Baldemar Hernandez, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by the joy he found in simple pleasures and the profound impact he had on his beloved family. His memory will be cherished and honored, and his spirit will live on in the laughter, love, and wisdom he left behind.

Baldemar’s Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm. Viewing will continue from 6:30-8:00pm. Final viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 8:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church located at 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, 87105. Mass will begin at 9:00am. Baldemar will be laid to rest following the Mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102.

Pallbearers will be Nestor Roman, Daniel Roman, Carlos Hernandez, Sergio Terrazas,  Carlos Terrazas, and Abraham Pereyra.

Baldemar deja atrás a su esposa Ofelia Hernández, así como a sus hijos, hijas y nietos.

Nacido el 9 de mayo de 1945 en Agua Caliente, México, la vida de Baldemar estuvo marcada por el amor, el humor y grandes consejos dados a lo largo de los años, con una devoción asombrosa hacia su familia. Su presencia era un cálido abrazo para todos los que lo conocían, y su ausencia deja un vacío que se sentirá profundamente por sus seres queridos.

Un hombre de placeres sencillos, Baldemar encontraba alegría en los relatos atemporales de las clásicas películas del oeste. Su risa llenaba la habitación mientras los buenos triunfaban, y las líneas entre el bien y el mal eran tan claras como las películas en blanco y negro que tanto apreciaba. Las vibrantes notas del mariachi y la voz conmovedora de Vicente Fernández resonaban a menudo a través de las paredes de su hogar, mientras Baldemar celebraba su herencia cultural con una profunda pasión por la música mexicana

Los aromas de la comida casera hacían feliz a Baldemar; las empanadas y los tamales eran algunos de sus platillos favoritos. Disfrutaba del acto de compartir una comida, considerándolo uno de los mayores placeres de la vida y una oportunidad para reunir a su familia alrededor de la mesa, que era la piedra angular de su mundo.

El legado de Baldemar se define por sus roles como esposo devoto, padre cariñoso y abuelo adorado. Encontró su vocación en la vida dentro de los corazones de su familia, esforzándose cada día por ser lo mejor que podía para ellos. Su guía y sabiduría fueron la brújula con la que su familia navegó los desafíos de la vida, y su ingenio fue la luz que iluminó sus días.

Aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocer a Baldemar lo describirían como un bromista, cariñoso y sabio. Su humor era un regalo que compartía generosamente, trayendo sonrisas a los rostros incluso en los días más nublados. Su amor era un santuario, incondicional y firme. Su sabiduría era un tesoro, dispensado con humildad y gracia.

Al despedirnos de Baldemar Hernández, celebramos una vida vivida al máximo, marcada por la alegría que encontró en placeres sencillos y el profundo impacto que tuvo en su amada familia. Su memoria será atesorada y honrada, y su espíritu vivirá en las risas, el amor y la sabiduría que dejó atrás.
La Celebración de la Vida de Baldemar comenzará con una Visita el lunes 7 de octubre de 2024, a las 4:00 p.m. en la Funeraria Salazar, ubicada en 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Se recitará el Rosario a las 6:00 p.m. La visualización continuará de 6:30 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. La última visualización se llevará a cabo el martes 8 de octubre de 2024, a las 8:00 a.m. en la Iglesia Católica Sagrada Familia, ubicada en 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, 87105. La Misa comenzará a las 9:00 a.m. Baldemar será sepultado después de la Misa en el Cementerio Mount Calvary, ubicado en 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102.
