Biolanda “Yolanda” Casados, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the age of 89.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ramon Casados and Tillie Baldonado; grandmother: gramma Maye; siblings: Alfredo, Bennie, Edward, Albertino, Manuel, Ernesto, infant twins Mary and Jerry; second mom who took her in, sister-in-law Nellie Casados; niece Dorothy Romero; nephew Eloy Ortega; and other beloved family members.
Yolanda is lovingly survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Born in Cerrillos, New Mexico, to Ramon Casados and Tillie Baldonado, Yolanda was the youngest and only daughter among eight siblings. After losing her mother at the age of four, she was lovingly under her grandmother Maye’s care until age 10. Her older brother Manuel and his wife Nellie then took her in as one of their own. Despite life’s many challenges, she lived with unwavering strength, compassion, and faith.
Yolanda entered the workforce to help support her family. She became a talented cook, preparing traditional New Mexican cuisine at Lowe’s Café, Vic Rola Café, and later as head cook at Club Bar in Albuquerque. Her homemade meals, warm hospitality, and generous spirit became her signature gifts to everyone around her.
More than anything, Yolanda devoted her life to caring for others. She helped raise generations of nieces and nephews, offering unconditional love, guidance, and support. Her kindness, humility, resilience, and deep faith touched countless lives and will remain an enduring legacy.
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed." — Proverbs 31:25–28
