Canda Chavez Trujillo, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at the age of 97.

She was preceded in death by three husbands: Feliz Jaramillo, Benito Martinez, Donaciano Trujillo; daughter Theresa Torres, and grandson Johnny Jaramillo.

Canda is survived by her sons: Leroy Jaramillo, Lawrence Martinez; grandchildren: Darlene Gutierrez, Bennie Martinez, Delbert Torres, Marilyn Urenda, Leroy Jaramillo, Kris Jaramillo, Laura Barstow, twenty one great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

Canda's life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family. Raising her children and caring for her home was her life's purpose. She infused every aspect of her home life with the wisdom and love that so naturally emanated from her. Canda's children remember her as the bedrock of their family, someone who always put the needs of others before her own, embodying the true essence of selflessness.

Her interests were as warm and inviting as her personality. Canda found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from the excitement of a day at the casino to the engrossing drama of her favorite novelas. Her love for New Mexican food was profound, and she took delight in sharing her passion for cooking with everyone around her.

Canda also cherished her trips to Las Vegas, Nevada where the bright lights and vibrant energy mirrored her own zest for life. These travels were not just about the destinations but the experiences and memories she created with her loved ones.

As we remember Canda, we hold onto the image of a woman whose love knew no bounds, whose wisdom guided her family through the best and worst of times, and whose selfless nature made her a cherished figure in her community.

Canda Chavez Trujillo will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Canda's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 10:30am at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church located at 2005 N Plaza St. NW, 87104. Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Canda will be laid to rest following the Mass at Santa Clara Cemetery located at 615 Foothill Dr. SW, 87105. Reception will follow burial inside Salazar Mortuary Event Center located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102.

Pallbearers will be Leroy Jaramillo, Kris Jaramillo, Joseph Martinez, Bennie Martinez, Delbert Torres, and Patrick Torres.
