Carlos R. Sisneros "Sleepy", age 81, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Friday, November 28 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Carlos is survived by his wife of 56 years, Delia; daughter Debbie (Charles Jones); sons: Tommy (Kat Sisneros), Bobby (Eileen Martinez); grandchildren: Vanessa (Nick Warin), Victoria (Zane Brown), Chase, Joshua, and Vincent.
His greatest passions were serving the Lord and spending time with his family.
Born in Cuervo, New Mexico, Carlos lived a life marked by dedication, quiet strength, and deep care for those around him. He was known for his warm spirit, his unwavering work ethic, and the generosity he extended to friends, family, and neighbors alike. Throughout his life, Carlos found great joy in fishing and sports. He was an excellent baseball, basketball and football player. He was the pool shark of his neighborhood. (although Joe Rivera would not agree) It was often said that he could catch a fish in a water bottle. He touched many with his kindness and sincerity. It was a rarity to catch him without a smile a mile long. His laugh was contagious and brought life to every situation.
One of the fondest moments of dad was listening to him describe his issues to his doctors with his broken English. He never was bothered by the fact that his English was broken. In fact, that was one of the things that brought levity to each doctors appointment. He didn’t have a doctor or nurse that didn’t adore him and even look forward to his visits.
With an everlasting zeal for giving, you could always count on Carlos’ support when it was needed. Likewise, whenever he was gifted something, he continually expressed his gratitude—he never neglected to count his blessings. His smile could light up a room, and his energy was truly infectious. He provided a home that was always welcoming to guests and loved ones. Whenever family came in town they had to go by Carly’s house. His home was a gathering place, filled with hospitality, laughter, and open doors.
Despite having various health issues, he never allowed them to affect his disposition. He took life seriously, but never himself. He found his peace in knowing what his final destination would be. He refused to mope about his condition and even found ways to laugh it off.
His greatest passions in life were serving his Lord and spending time with his family. He thrived each time he opened his bible and read the love letter from his maker.
Carlos will be remembered for his loving heart, his steadfast faith, and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed.
Carlos' Life Celebration will take place on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 1:00pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Reception will follow inside Salazar Mortuary's Life Event Center.
