Carlos Armendarez, a man whose laughter was as infectious as his spirit was indomitable, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Carlos was preceded in death by his nephew Vicente Arvizo, father-in-law Roger L. Padilla, and mother-in-law Irene Padilla.
He is survived by his wife Denise Armendarez; mother Juana Armendarez Reyes and husband Oscar Arvizo; brothers: Oscar Arvizo, Jesse and wife Saira Arvizo; sisters: Becky Armendarez and husband Gustavo Flores, Lupe and husband Libe Robledo; daughter Amalia Armendarez Barber and husband Kamren Barber; son Guillermo Armendarez; step-children: Dj and wife Monique Whitney, Martin Whitney, Desiree and wife Amanda Whitney; 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Born on April 21, 1970, in El Paso, Texas, Carlos was a true jack of all trades with a passion for building, carpentry, and anything that could race on four wheels. Carlos' love for the outdoors was evident in his dedication as a Forest Tree Firefighter and his joy in camping, fishing, and gathering friends around a bonfire. He lived a life full of adventure across New Mexico, from Albuquerque to Barales, Española, and Dulce, always riding his bike and cruising to his heart's content.
A connoisseur of cherry cheesecake and brownies, Carlos' purpose in life was simple yet profound: to make people laugh. Remembered as kind, loving, and funny, he leaves behind a legacy of joy and a blueprint for a life well-lived. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the countless stories of his escapades and the laughter he inspired.
Carlos’ life celebration will begin with a visitation on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Reflections Chapel located at 2400 Washington St NE, 87110. Service will begin at 3:30 p.m. Reception will be held at Sunset Grille and Bar located at 6825 Lomas Blvd. NE, 87110.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Arvizo, Guillermo Armendarez, Oscar Arvizo, Desiree Whitney, Dj Whitney, and Hever Iturralde.
Please park across the street at Pima. Please do NOT park in front of the other businesses in the same lot as Reflections Chapel.
