Charles O. Stockton III

Charles O. Stockton III passed away unexpectedly at his home in Albuquerque on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 67 years old.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Charles and Bobbie and his daughter Cheryl Stierheim.

Blessed to have a large family, Charlie is survived by his wife of 22 years Laura; children: Kathy Greenbaum, Kalie Andrade (Mike), Robert Stanley (partner Tiffany), Daniel Garcia (Elizabeth); brothers: Richard (Lisa), Michael (Tracy); seven grandchildren: Kaylee, Jonathan, Halie, Charlotte, Michael, DJ, Sophia; two great-grandchildren: Chance, Naomi; as well as aunts, nieces, and many cousins and in-laws all of who held a special place in his heart.

Charlie was born in Georgia on October 14, 1958, to parents who quickly learned that he would do things his own way, and being the third in the Stockton line meant he had big shoes to fill. Charles Jr. and Bobbie Jean knew he was special. Like his father, after graduating from High School, Charlie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was an enormous patriot and expressed his pride for his country in all aspects of his life.

After the Marine Corps, Charlie got his degree from Pulaski Tech in Arkansas. He learned the value and satisfaction of hard work as a reinforcing ironworker in the shipyards of Newport News, bridge and column work on Arkansas’s interstates, as well as Papermills in Pascagoula and lay down yards in Florida.

He became a residential and commercial building inspector and had the pleasure of working with many Native American and Municipal clients. Along his path, he worked with many professionals in the architectural, engineering and construction services field - in the office and on the jobsite. He was a Senior Construction Inspector for a regional A/E firm based in Albuquerque for 15 years before he decided to work for himself and opened C3CI Consulting. He worked hard to give his clients 100% and strived to be sure that the work he provided was paramount. When you dedicate so much to your work, it can be hard to find that family-work balance, but not for Charlie.

Outside of work, Charlie was a fan of anything that raced with four wheels. An avid NASCAR and F1 fan. He had the excitement of driving a Ferrari at the F1 Autodroma de Modena, Italy and he just loved it. Being at the track live on Sunday was his absolute NASCAR favorite. Having been to multiple tracks in the circuit, he didn't have a favorite. He was a road warrior, loved to travel and was always up for an adventure. There is a special group of friends, The Chili Gang, that became a large part of his life and there is a special place in his heart where the memories and laughter will remain. He will be remembered for his quick wit, love for learning, and sharp mind.

Charles' Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 3:30pm at the City on a Hill Church located at 3715 Silver Ave SE, 87108.
