Christopher Lee Bazan

Christopher Lee Bazan passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, surrounded by family and close friends Mag and Aidan, in Albuquerque, the city he called home throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Abel Bazan, Sr., aunt Jude, and brother Leonard Saiz, Jr..

Christopher is survived by his dad and mom Carlos and Patricia Garcia Bazan; grandmas: Toni Bazan, Judy Saiz; sisters: Melissa Trujeque, Tiffany Bazan, Jolene; brothers: Eddie Saiz, Sean; uncle Abel Bazan and his wife Judy Bazan; aunties: Deborah Bazan-Lopez and husband Freddie Lopez, Maria Bazan; Leann; nephews: Aaron Sandoval, Ivan Bazan; nieces: Aryana Sandoval, Tyana Bazan; favorite cousin Freddie Lopez and wife Tayzia Lopez; cousins: Dominic, Noah, Felisha, Janelle, Louie, Andres, Angleo, Ella, Lawrence, Mia, Zane, Koa. 

Christopher, born on April 23, 1992, was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Christopher was a community member whose presence brought comfort, warmth, and light to those around him. He was known for his outgoing spirit, his caring nature, and the rare ability to make others feel seen, welcomed, and understood. He lived with a generous heart and a steady kindness that touched many lives. Those who knew him will remember his selfless way of moving through the world, always ready to listen, to encourage, and to offer support without hesitation.

He carried a deep passion for the things he loved, and he embraced them with enthusiasm and joy. Christopher enjoyed video games, Yu-Gi-Oh, Marvel, Dragon Ball Z, Star Wars, anime, and Pokemon cards. He found genuine happiness in these interests, and they were part of the many ways he connected with others and shared his personality. He also had a particular love for the blazing hot wings from Bdubs, a favorite that reflected his bold spirit and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Music was another meaningful part of his life, and he especially enjoyed the sounds of Korn, Rob Zombie and Slipknot.

Christopher was not only a person of interests and hobbies, but also a person of action and purpose. He founded a nonprofit organization called Explore Beyond Your Limits to help others with disabilities, a reflection of his compassion and his desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Through this work, he demonstrated his belief in inclusion, encouragement, and the importance of helping people discover their strength and potential. His efforts stood as a testament to the kind of person he was, one who looked beyond himself and sought to create opportunity and hope for others.

He will be remembered for his happy nature and his remarkable ability to remain calm and kind in all circumstances. Christopher was never one to hold anger close, and his gentle spirit made him a source of peace to many. He was comforting in moments of difficulty, and his presence often brought reassurance to those who needed it most.
