Cruz Arthur Otero, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, four days after his 28th birthday.
He leaves a legacy of laughter, kindness, and a deep love for everyone in his life.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Arthur Duran.
Cruz is survived and deeply missed by his loving parents Lisa and Ricardo Otero; sister Christa Otero; maternal grandparents Phyllis and Edward Ebell; paternal grandparents Patricia and Amadeo Otero, and a close-knit family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Cruz was born on March 16, 1996, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He graduated from St. Pius High School in 2014 and graduated with a bachelor's degree from UNM in 2018. Cruz's kind spirit and compassionate soul touched all who knew him. Cruz found happiness in basketball, golfing, fishing and video gaming with friends. He lit up a room and never met a stranger.
Those who knew Cruz will remember him as the person who could always be counted on to uplift and help others. He was the first to offer a helping hand or a comforting word, and loved to make people laugh. His humor brightened the lives of everyone around him. His kindness was a gift he freely gave, without expecting anything in return, and it is this kindness that will be sorely missed by all. His absence will leave a void in our hearts, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Cruz's life celebration will begin with a rosary to be recited on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Service will begin at 11:30 a.m.
