David Ross Samaniego

David Ross Samaniego, a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Born in Carlsbad, New Mexico, on May 15, 1952. David was the son of Rosalio and Elizabeth Samaniego. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, Barney Samaniego, and his favorite dog Sport.

David is survived by his wife, Priscilla Samaniego of 45 years, his children: Bianca Lea Samaniego, David Ventura Samaniego, Patricia Sanchez, Susie Dominguez and Theresa Chavez. He was a proud grandfather to many grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his siblings: Shirley Miller, Linda Ramirez, Danny Samaniego, Jerry Samaniego, Ronnie Samaniego and Lisa Espinoza. David will be dearly missed by his extended family, friends, and all who knew him.

David had a lifelong passion for wrestling, as well as a keen interest in World War II history, and was a Jack of all trades.  He shared these passions with others, sparking many lively conversations and deepening his connections with those around him. His warm heart, sense of humor, and dedication to his family were just a few of the qualities that made him so beloved.

A private funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on November 9, 2024 at Salazar Funeral Home, 400 Third Street SW, Albuquerque, NM for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in David's memory.

David’s memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. You either loved him or hated him, but you always got the real David Ross Samaniego. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
