Davie "Zorro" Griego

David “Davie/Zorro” Griego a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Davie was predeceased in death by his parents Dave and Antonia Griego; brothers: Elias Griego, Orlando Griego (Lisa Griego), and niece Micaela Griego.

He is survived by his wife Cindy Griego; daughters: Vanessa Griego, Danielle Griego; grandchildren: Adrianna Griego, Manuel Martinez, Santos Martinez, Matthew Martinez; sister Alyce Tapia-Griego; also children in Arizona as well as their children, and several nieces and nephews.

Davie was born on April 19, 1948 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Davie’s zest for life and infectious spirit touched all who knew him. love for music knew no bounds as he found joy and solace with the melody of Country, Spanish and Rock-n-Roll. His passion for rhythm and lyrics was only matched by his love for basketball, boxing, reading, horror movies, dancing and gun collecting.

For 43 loving years, Davie was married to his beloved wife, Cindy. Together they built a life founded on mutual love and respect, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. Davie’s unwavering commitment to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. Protecting the ones he loved was not just his purpose but calling, and he did so with a steadfast heart.

A man of many talents. Davie was known for his readiness to lend a helping hand Moreover, Davie’s sense of humor was legendary; he always had a joke up his sleeve, ready to lighten the mood and bring a smile to anyone’s face.

Described by those who knew him as loving, funny and strong. Davie’s legacy is one of joy, laughter and love. His presence will be profoundly missed but the memory he created will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends. As we bid farewell to Davie “Zorro” Griego we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a life that will forever be remembered and cherished.

Davie's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation at 11:00 am on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Rosary will be recited at 12:00. Life Celebration Service will begin at 12:30pm.  Davie will be laid to rest on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 2:30 pm with military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, NM 87501.
