It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we must announce our brother and cherished friend to many, Dean “Dino” Ditmore, who passed away on Monday,October 30, 2023, in Rio Rancho New Mexico, at the age of 68. One day short of his 69th Birthday.
Dino was born October 31, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Howard and Patricia Ditmore and is the second oldest of six siblings. Dino was preceded in death by his younger brother Dennis Brian Ditmore in 1963, and is survived by his four siblings Daniel Hutzler of Wexford, PA, Darlene Ditmore of Causey, N.M., Duane Wood of Star, Idaho and Denise Spalding of Jacksonville, N.C.
It's hard to put into words what Dino meant to everyone and the accomplishments throughout his life. There were many things that were special to Dino. The gang of friends he met when he moved from Albuquerque to Rio Rancho in 1969. Buddies in the Navy from 1972 to 1976. Dino loved his time in the Navy. All his construction co-worker/buddies from the late 70’s to the early 90’s. His adventures with everyone at Martin Marietta & BDR from the early 90’s thru early 2000’s. Living in the Florida Keys for 10 years from 1998 thru 2008 and Ft Meyers from 2008 to 2015. Dino spoke about his friends and adventures often. Always with great passion and excitement. It was hard to stop Dino once he started speaking about his friends and adventures. And that grin.
Dino loved his family, friends, music, the sea, boating, cars, mountains, animals (sorry cats), tinkering with anything, building things, photography and most of all he loved helping others. Especially his friends. And it didn’t matter what it was – if someone needed a hand Dino was there. We will miss our brother/friend immensely – and cherish the moments we shared together.
Dino's life Celebration will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 11:00 am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third Street SW, Albuquerque, N.M. 87102. Military honors will be presented once the service begins.
In Lieu of flowers please think of a donation to a charity or animal rescue of your choice. Dino would really appreciate that.
