Dolores Lucero,73, a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, in her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dolores is survived by her husband Felix Lucero, sons: Phillip Lucero, David Lucero, Raymond Lucero, daughter Carol Griego, 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Born on June 27, 1952, in the same vibrant city, Dolores's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the simple joys of home.
Dolores found solace and expression in baking and sewing. Her home was often filled with the sweet aroma of her baked goods, that added a touch of personalized beauty to the lives of her friends and family. Dolores's favorite place was her home, a sanctuary of warmth and comfort for all who entered.
Her love for old country music, particularly the timeless melodies of oldies, provided to many family gatherings, where laughter and love were always on the menu. The stuffed sopapillas that Dolores lovingly prepared were legendary, a family favorite that will be long remembered and sorely missed.
Though she enjoyed the occasional outing to Outback Steakhouse and Applebees, nothing compared to the joy she found in her own dining room, surrounded by her beloved family. For Dolores, these moments were the essence of life's richness, a simple pleasure that she cherished deeply.
Above all, Dolores's children were the crowning achievement of her life. She poured her heart into their upbringing, guiding them with a gentle hand and a loving spirit. Her purpose was clear and unwavering: to love and care for her family with every ounce of her being. This dedication was her legacy, a gift of immeasurable value to those who called her mother.
Described by those who knew her as loving, generous, nurturing, and thoughtful, Dolores's impact on the world was both gentle and profound. She moved through life with a quiet grace, her actions speaking volumes about the depth of her character and the breadth of her heart.
As we bid farewell to Dolores, we do so with gratitude for the time we shared with her and the lessons she imparted. Her memory will be cherished, her love felt, and her spirit will continue to guide us. Dolores's journey on earth may have ended, but the echoes of her kindness will resonate for generations to come.
Dolores' Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 12:30pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Service will begin at 1:00pm. Reception will follow inside Salazar Mortuary's Event Center.
