Doreen Crockett Tapia, 61, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe A. Tapia.
Doreen leaves behind her loving sons David Tapia, Joshua Wood; stepsons: Felipe Tapia, Luis Tapia, Joe Tapia; grandchildren: Mariano Tapia, Julian Tapia, Eugene Tapia, Julia Tapia; sisters: Deanna Graham, Donna Crockett; brother Henry Crockett; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory forever.
Born on October 13, 1964, in Alamogordo, New Mexico, Doreen was the beloved daughter of Don and Anna Crockett. She lived a life centered on love, family, and bringing people together. Her warm heart, generous spirit, and welcoming smile touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Doreen worked for many years as a restaurant server, where her kindness and genuine care for others made lasting impressions on coworkers and customers alike. She found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends, preparing and sharing homemade meals, and relaxing with her favorite cooking shows. Whether gathered around the dinner table or simply enjoying each other’s company, Doreen had a special gift for making people feel at home and loved.
Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in the love she shared, the memories she created, and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Doreen's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 9:00am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Service will begin at 10:00am. Reception will follow inside Salazar Mortuary's Event Center. Doreen will be laid to rest at 2:00pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St., 87501.
Pallbearers will be Joe Tapia, Felipe Tapia, Luis Tapia, Mariano Tapia, Julian Tapia, and Eugene Tapia.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Doreen’s life while sharing memories of the remarkable woman she was.
