Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother Edwina “Dina” Chavez, 82, was embraced by the Lord Jesus and taken to eternal life on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Adrian and Vincentita Chavez; husband Fidel G. Chavez, Jr; son Daniel L. Chavez; sister Theresa King, and brother Bobby Chavez

Edwina is survived by her loving daughters: Jacqueline M. Chavez, Diana C. Cervantes and husband William; grandson (the apple of her life) Cameron F. Cervantes and her companion Joseph Block. Also surviving are her many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico where she was a member of San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Edwina retired from the Federal Government with 37 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, socializing with her friends, dining out and going to the casino. Edwina thought the world of her family.

Edwina will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched!

She will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, loving embrace and unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate her life and find comfort that she is in heaven watching over us.

Edwina's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on February 18, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at San Felipe de Neri Church located at 2005 N Plaza St NW, 87104. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Edwina will be laid to rest at 12:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102.

Pallbearers will be William Cervantes, Cameron Cervantes, Betty Sanchez, and Martha Griego.
