Efren "Cain" Navarette, Jr. was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico on April 15, 1948, passed away on July, 5, 2026.
He is preceded in death by his mom Faye Navarette, father Efren Navarette, Sr., brother Guilleremo Navarette, and sisters: Christina Navarette and Priscilla Ortiz.
Cain is survived by his wife Maria Navarette and one brother Lionel Navarette.
Efren grew up in Carlsbad and graduated from Carlsbad High School in (1966). Soon after graduation, Efren enlisted in the US Army: Where he served one tour in Viet-nam, where he received many awards.
Afterwards, he attended Abilene Christian College where he received his degree in History and biblical studies. He then attended Officers Training School at Hardin Simmons University and received the rank of Second Lt. in the US Army.
He went on to pursue Higher education and received a Masters degree. Efren was an avid reader and loved education. He was a man of deep faith and loved sharing the word with all who would listen. Efren was a disabled Vet and moved to Albuquerque to spend some time with his brother Guillermo, where he met Maria.
Efren's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 11:00 am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Rosary will be recited at 1:00pm Reception will follow inside Salazar Mortuary's Event Center. Final Viewing will take place on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:30 am at Salazar Mortuary. Service will begin at 11:30 am. Efren will be laid to rest at 2:00 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St., 87501.
