Elise Michelle Gomez

Elise Gomez, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 6, 2024, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at the age of 48.

She was preceded in death by her fiancée Robert Jaramillo, maternal grandparents Gilbert and Angie Escarcida, and paternal grandmother Nelie Cleveland.

Elise is survived by her parents Deacon Larry and Martha Cleveland; daughters: Isabel Lockwood and husband Daniel, Marisol Gomez, Ursula Adkins; stepson Lorenzo Jaramillo, also her boyfriend and companion Martin Lopez.

Born on May 21, 1975, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Elise's vibrant spirit and infectious smile were a gift to all who knew her. She was a loving mother, a devoted fiancée, and a friend whose presence could light up the darkest of rooms.

Elise's passion for the great outdoors was evident in her love for camping and hiking. She found solace in the beauty of nature, often capturing its essence through her keen eye for photography. Her adventurous spirit was matched only by her love for her daughters and fiancé, whom she cherished with every fiber of her being. Elise's return to school later in life was a testament to her determination and a source of immense pride, as she juggled her studies with the demands of family life.

A collector at heart, Elise took joy in hunting for miniature spoons, each one a precious memento from her travels and experiences. Her unique style was unmistakable, from her carefully chosen makeup and ever-changing hairstyles to her distinctive tattoos. Elise's laugh was a melody that resonated in the hearts of those who heard it, and her treasured photographs are a legacy of the love and joy she shared so freely.

Elise's faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges with grace and resilience. Described by those who loved her as loving, funny, and faith-filled, she embodied these qualities in every interaction and relationship.

Elise's life celebration will begin with a rosary to be recited on Thursday 18, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church located at 5310 Claremont Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Mass will be held on Friday 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM also at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Elise will be laid to rest following the mass at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery located at 2957 Arenal Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121. Reception will follow the graveside at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church Parish Hall from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
