Ercilia J. Rael, fondly known as RC, was born on May 14, 1928, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. 

She lived a remarkable life that spanned nearly a century, filled with love, dedication, and joy.

She is preceded in death by her husband Juan, daughter JoAnn, sons: Edward, Kenneth, and son-in-law Tony.

Ercilia is survived by her children: Dora (Bob), Eduvijen, Steve (Maria), Rose (Steve), 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ercilia was married to her beloved husband Juan for 69 cherished years, until his passing in 2015.

A passionate gardener, Ercilia adored and nurturing her flowers, particularly the beautiful iris. Ercilia had a sweet tooth, often delighting in making the best flour tortillas.

As we remember Ercilia J. Rael, let us celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, family, and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. Her legacy will continue through her family, who are grateful for the love, lessons, and laughter she bestowed upon them.

Ercilia will be laid to rest on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:00am at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery located at 700 Yale Blvd SE, 87106. Reception will follow inside Salazar Mortuary's Event Center located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102.
