Ernest J. Segura passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at his residence in Albuquerque, New Mexico, just 9 days shy of his 81st birthday.

Ernest is survived by wife of 57 years Perfie Segura; daughters: Patricia, Yvonne, Debra; sons: Ernie, Steve, Marty, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Ernest was born on August 27, 1940 in Torreon, New Mexico. He attended Albuquerque High School where he graduated. He worked for Montgomery Wards as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. He retired from Montgomery Wards after 30+ years. One year after retirement he decided to work as a custodian for Albuquerque Public Schools, he also retired from this position.

Ernest was a working man his whole life. He worked so hard to support his family. He was also a family man. He enjoyed being around family and going to the casino with Perfie.

The last year he fought many battles such as COVID and countless other medical issues.

He is now resting and no longer in pain.

Ernest's Life Celebration will begin with a Service on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:00 am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Reception will follow at Salazar Mortuary Life Event Center.
