Ethan "Javi" Cruz

Ethan “Javi” Cruz passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Eva, and grandfather Manuel, whom he now joins in eternal rest.

Javi is survived by his loving mother, Michelle Lafont; his stepfather, Kevin; and his stepbrother, Jackson. He is also survived by his father, Jacques “Jac” Cruz; his stepmother, Shayna; his step-siblings, Aviana and Milah; and his half-brother, Ashton. Additionally, he leaves behind his grandmother, Nancy; his grandfather, Joaquin; and his uncle, Joaquin, along with many other family members and loved ones who will forever carry his laughter and memory in their hearts

Javi was a beautiful soul whose love, laughter, and kindness left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him. He had a playful, joking spirit and was known for his lighthearted banter—always teasing, laughing, and finding ways to make others smile. Happiness radiated from him wherever he went, and even on his hardest days, he remained good-natured, gentle, and kind, always wanting to uplift those around him. There was not a person who met Javi who couldn’t be his friend.

Javi cherished being a big brother. Children adored him, and they flocked to his warm, fun-loving presence, finding joy, comfort, and laughter in his company. He had a deeply artistic soul and a creative way of seeing the world. Through music and photography, Javi expressed his emotions, his humor, and his heart, capturing moments and feelings that others might overlook. He saw beauty in everyday life, finding meaning, color, and light in places that were uniquely his own.

Though Javi’s time with us was far too short, his joy, creativity, and contagious laughter will continue to live on through the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

Javi's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Reflections Chapel located at 2400 Washington St. NE, 87110. Service will begin at 5:00 pm.
