Gary Lynn Bohannon passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM, at the age of 79.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Frieda; beloved wife Teresa Bohannon; son Brett Bohannon; brother Robert Bohannon.

He is survived by his nephews: Jon Bohannon (Christine) of Topeka, KS, Todd Bohannon (Barbara) of Tucson, AZ; great-nephews and great-nieces, as well as extended family members, and countless friends who will forever cherish his humor, warmth, and zest for life.

He was born on March 23, 1945, in Denver, CO, to Carl Rhoode Bohannon and Frieda Frances Calderwood.

Gary proudly served in the United States Army from May 13, 1968, to February 2, 1972, demonstrating his dedication to his country. Throughout his life, he was known for his resilience, loyalty, and the deep connections he maintained with his family and friends. Beyond his service, Gary will be remembered most for his love of golf, his infectious laughter, and his ability to turn even the simplest moments into a good time. Whether he was out on the golf course perfecting his swing, cracking jokes with friends, or simply enjoying a sunny day, Gary had a knack for bringing joy to those around him.

Gary’s life was a testament to strength, service, and love for those close to him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Gary's life celebration will begin with a visitation on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Reflections Chapel located at 2400 Washington St NE, 87110. Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Gary will be laid to rest at 2:30p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, 87501
