Gasper Hernandez Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Gasper Hernandez, who departed into the arms of our Lord on Thursday, July 9, 2026 in Albuquerque, NM.

Gasper was born on October 1, 1998; he was the beloved son of Gaspar and Consuelo Hernandez and the most cherished younger brother of Julissa and Samantha.

Passionate about sports since childhood, he participated in several of them: karate, basketball, track and field, tennis, and football.

He graduated from Rio Grande High School in 2017. Although it was no secret that he did not enjoy the academic aspect of school, his friendships and sports were the motivation to continue his studies and earn fantastic grades. He played the position of quarterback on the football team for many years and received the honor of being named Athlete of the Year upon graduation.

Gasper loved fishing; one of his favorite spots was Pecos, NM. In winter, his favorite sport was snowboarding and would travel extensively in search of fresh snow. Adventurous and bold, he traveled to various places and beautiful landscapes across the country and in Mexico.
