Helen L. Chiordi

Helen Corcoran Chiordi, born August 6, 1947, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at 11:46 p.m.

A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Helen was deeply rooted in her community and touched the lives of many through her kindness, intelligence, and dedication to helping others. 

Helen earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology and was a registered mental health counselor. She devoted part of her career to education, teaching at the old Indian School in Albuquerque. She was known for her caring spirit and her passion for supporting others in their growth and well-being. She was married to Michael Chiordi, with whom she shared many years and built a loving family. 

Helen is survived by her children, Michelann Tachibana and Angelus Chiordi-Person, husband Gary Person; her cherished grandchildren, Malachi Gonzalez, Anakin Person, Jasmine Tachibana, Trevor Tachibana, and Gaius Person; her beloved sisters, Miriam Corcoran, Ann Sesler and husband Bob, and Maureen Sturmoski; and her cousin Robert Shepherd and wife Gwen. Helen’s extended family was vast and too numerous to list individually, but all were dear to her heart. 

Helen will be remembered for her strength, compassion, devotion to family, and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Services and celebration of life information will be announced by the family at a later date.
