James Robert Peralta also known as “JRP,” age 70, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his father Juan Peralta, mother Petra Peralta, his sister Maryann Torres, brother Johnny Peralta, and his brother Sammy Peralta.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen Peralta, of 52 years; daughter Jennifer Jaleen Peralta-Searcy and her husband Brian Searcy; son Andrew James Peralta and his wife Veronica Peralta; younger sister Cassandra Piar, as well as his five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to Carrizozo, New Mexico where he later became a Carrizozo police officer. James loved his family more than anything in the world. He loved to laugh and made sure to make everyone else around him laugh too. His grandkids and great-grandkids adored him and enjoyed spending time with him. His family is going to miss his frequent calls, and funny noises he’d make. He was a strong man who loved to work with his hands. He was a mechanic for most of his life and was known for being able to fix any issue with a car. He also enjoyed rebuilding old cars and trucks. He loved going to the horse races, especially when he won big. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an excellent bowler. He was a diehard Washington Redskins fan, and was sure this upcoming year would be their year in the Superbowl.
He will be greatly missed by his entire family.
