On Saturday, January 10, 2026 Jeffrey Allen Hood passed away peacefully at his home at the age 65 after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family.

He was preceded in death by his brother John Hood and mother Doris Hood.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 37 years, Deborah Hood, children: John Hood and partner Mary Heron, Matthew Zamora and husband James Galbraith, sister Jana Kelly, and the Brady side of his family. Jeff's many nephews and nieces will always remember him fondly. He was especially close to his dog Cinder who watched over and protected him during his last hours.

Jeff was widely known for his kindness, generosity, humility, and his love of family and friends. He retired after over 40 years in the telecommunications industry, and will be remembered for his love of animals, music, food, and sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was an adventurous athlete who loved to ski and over the years played football, basketball, and baseball. While he will be missed, we can take solace in knowing he is no longer in pain and can rest peacefully.

Jeff's Life Celebration will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Reception will follow inside Salazar Mortuary Event Center.
