Jim Santiago Griego went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Cricenseo, Andres, Johnny, Pete, Pat; sister Bennie; parents:  Santiago Griego and Beatrice Griego.

Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hilda Griego; son Larry Griego and wife Sandra, daughter Darlene Fernandez and husband Jesse, sisters: Esther Baca and husband Albert, Lugie Gonzales and husband Michael, sister-in-law Paula Griego, grandchildren: Ashley Griego, Felisha Fernandez, Hailey Griego-Johnson, Jeslene Fernandez, Isaiah Fernandez; great-grandchildren:  Hannah Ponce, DaNarius Barry, DaLaysia Barry, and Marshall Johnson III.

Jim had a varied career. His early years were spent working in Grants Mines, UNM and he retired as a truck driver. His nicknames were “Santi” and “St. Jimmy.”

Jim’s Life Celebration will begin with a Service on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 10:30am Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Jim will be laid to rest at 12:00pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102.

Pallbearers will be Larry Griego, Isaiah Fernandez, Jesse Fernandez, DaNarius Barry, Andy Ponce, and Marshall Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ashley Griego, Felisha Fernandez, Hailey Griego-Johnson, Jeslene Fernandez, Hannah Ponce, DaLaysia Barry, and Marshall Johnson III.
