Julia M. Sedillo

Julia M. Sedillo, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and devotion that will be cherished by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mariano and Frances Sandoval, son Benny L. Sedillo, brother Phil Vialpando, grandson Dominic Sedillo, nephew Felix Vialpando, great-granddaughter Monique Sedillo, and goddaughter Rosa Gonzales.

Julia is survived by her daughters: Bernadette L. Bejarano (Raul), Betty R. Sedillo, brother Modesto Vialpando (Gina), grandchildren: Stephanie Sedillo (Celina), Raul I. Bejarano (Letichia), Christopher Sedillo, Patricia Godina, Julie Bejarano-Chavez (Adrian); special great-grandchildren: Elijah Bejarano, Sebastian Bejarano, Adrian Chavez, Onyka Riboni, Raul D. Bejarano, Onjay Riboni, Genesis Chavez, Jose Angel Godina, Ever Godina and Leah Godina; with her newest fifth generation great-great-granddaughter Ella Rose Bejarano; special nieces and nephews: Kathy Walker (Bill), Monica Vialpando Cordova (Ramon), Robert Vialpando (Michelle), Frances Salazar (Romolo), Clarinda Salazar (James). As well as many more great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends and her loyal companion Nikko.

Julia lived a full life marked by determination, faith, and the deep bonds of family, and her memory will remain a blessing to those whose lives she touched. She was a woman of remarkable resilience and independence. At a time when life demanded much of her, she rose to meet every challenge with courage and purpose. As a single parent with no formal education, she made the decision to change the course of her life through hard work and perseverance. She pursued an education and earned her driver’s license so that she could provide for her family on her own. Her determination became one of the defining examples of her life, and she showed those around her that it is never too late to build a better future.

Family was at the center of Julia’s world. She was the matriarch of the family, a steady and guiding presence whose voice carried wisdom, humor, and love. She often referred to herself as “the boss,” and in many ways, she truly was. She led with confidence, love, and a strong sense of responsibility, and her family knew they could always count on her. She was loving and giving, and she made sure that those she cared about felt supported, protected, and remembered. Her presence brought comfort, and her absence will be deeply felt.

Julia was also known for her spirited personality. She was a good person with a little bit of bratty charm that made her unforgettable. She had a strong will, a quick wit, and a personality that could fill a room. Those who knew her best appreciated her honesty, her humor, and the way she carried herself with confidence. She was spiritual and held close to the things that gave her comfort and meaning throughout her life.

Her interests reflected the joy she found in everyday living and family gatherings. She enjoyed casino outings and spending time on Facebook, where she stayed connected to the world and to the people she loved. In her younger years, she loved dancing, and music always held a special place in her heart. She especially enjoyed rancheras, which brought out the warmth and feeling she loved in life. She always looked forward to eating out with her family, at her favorite restaurants.

Julia also had a special fondness for collecting meaningful and beautiful things. She collected rosaries, santos, pictures, and purses. Her love for purses was especially memorable, as she was known to keep purses inside of purses. These collections reflected her personality and her appreciation for items that carried memory, faith, and personal significance. They were part of the life she built and the home she made for herself and her family.

Her life was one of perseverance, devotion, and love. She did not allow hardship to define her, and instead she built a life of purpose and dignity. She worked to ensure that her family had what they needed, and she did so with a strength that inspired admiration. Her story is one of sacrifice and triumph, and it stands as a testament to the power of determination and the importance of family.

Julia’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be remembered for her strength, her faith, her generosity, and her unmistakable presence. She was deeply loved, and she gave that love freely in return. Though her passing leaves a great emptiness, her life leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring comfort and pride to her family and friends.
