The nurturing, loving, caring mother of so many Julie Dian Rehmeyer received her wings, while surrounded by her children, on Friday, February 20, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 55.
She is preceded in death by her father Harry James Rehmeyer, nephew Deion Lee Blackman, and daughter-in-law Shanice Medina Jackson.
Julie is survived by her mother Jeanette Dian Lauritzen, daughters: Theresa, Tori, Tamyca, Jatara, twelve grandchildren, siblings: John, Jill, Jimmy as well as many nieces nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Born on July 1, 1970, she loved the summertime and the beach. Spending most of her life in San Diego, California. she spent a lot of time at the beach for family and friends gatherings. A simple invite was all it took for her to make her "Famous baked beans" and gather all the kids to the beach.
To provide for her family she spent the entirety of her adult life being a healthcare worker. She spent her time as a CNA helping and loving those in the final days of their lives. Taking care of others was second nature to her. Always willing to make sure people are being cared for properly is something she will always be remembered for.
The holidays were her favorite time of the year because she could put on some Isley Brothers and cook a feast big enough to feed an army. It brought her joy to cook because she knew that soon everyone would gather, eat, laugh and make memories!
One of the fondest memories that her loved ones have is her infamous initiation dance. Any new friend would get a very special welcome that everyone loved to see. She would chase you around the house asking you to share a dance with her and we would all just erupt in laughter. That initiation will always be remembered because it meant that she wanted you to feel welcomed and to know that you are accepted into our home and family.
Spending time with family was something she enjoyed most because she could feed all the babies. She had a saying " No child goes hungry" So she would feed ALL of her kids and any kids that came home with them. No one ever got turned away!
Her loving spirit and caring character will be deeply missed as her family and friends prepare to embark on this journey without her beautiful smile or comforting hug.
