Kevin W. Callahan went to his Heavenly home to be with his Savior Jesus on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents Priscilla and Fred Callahan.
Kevin is survived by his wife Joann, daughter Ambyre Callahan, sons: Zackery Hardesty, Joshua Hardesty, grandson Azaiah "Pistol Peeps" Medina; brothers: Michael Callahan and wife Romelia, Craig Callahan and wife Cathy, Marvin Callahan and wife Janelle, sister Janelle Callahan and husband Isaac. Kevin is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Kevin was the son of Priscilla and Fred Callahan, he was born in Albuquerque New Mexico, on October 17, 1964. Kevin later married his friend, the love of his life, Joann Griego who was also from Albuquerque, N.M. Together they started a family and had one daughter - Ambyre Callahan and 18 years later, started raising their twin nephews, Zackery and Joshua Hardesty who they cared for as their own.
Kevin was a kind, compassionate, empathetic, hard-working man who had a vigor for life and people. Kevin had a true love and passion for his family, always making sure his family and friends were taken care of. Kevin loved playing basketball, collecting and working on vintage bicycles, thrifting and frequenting yard sales. Kevin would always make time to take his wife to the community fiestas for a good afternoon of dancing, playing for hours on end with his grandson and still made time to fellowship and visit with his life-long friends and family. Anytime someone needed advice or just wanted to chat, Kevin always dedicated his time to them, whether this be someone he knew for years or just on-the-fly, Kevin made friends wherever he went.
Kevin embodied what it truly means to be God's servant. Kevin personified his favorite Bible verse Philippians 2:2-5; Kevin was selfless, humble, he valued others above himself, and tried to always make decisions that were pleasing to our Lord Jesus Christ. Kevin was a servant for the Lord and His kingdom, mirroring God's love through his actions. Kevin valued his relationship with the Lord and often shared his faith with others. He valued the importance of faith in God, hard work, integrity, honesty, and doing things the right way. Kevin will be immensely missed and cherished by his family and friends.
Kevin's Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00a.m. at the Westside Community Center located at 1250 Isleta Blvd SW, 87105.
