Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, Ladiz Turrietta, Jr., age 83, went to his rest peacefully at home on Friday, January 2, 2026.
Ladiz was preceded in death by his parents Ladiz, Sr. and Pilar; siblings: Nick, Viola, Steve, Tino; son John, and grandson Anthony.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary; siblings: Susan, Rose, Allen; daughters: Judy (Johnny), Viola (Steve); daughter-in-law Donna; grandchildren: John Brian (Andrea), Linda, Valerie (John), Gayle (John), Amanda (Katrina); and great-grandchildren Madilynn, Autumn-Rae, and John Paul.
Ladiz was born to Ladiz, Sr. and Pilar Turrietta in Hot Springs (T or C) New Mexico on January 5, 1942.
Ladiz and Mary were united in marriage May 16, 1960. Ladiz enjoyed life to it’s fullest. He was a hunter, fisherman, boater and outdoorsman. He particularly enjoyed the mountains of Northern New Mexico.
Ladiz served his country in the US Army and New Mexico National Guard. Ladiz worked hard during his career as a welder for the Gas Company of New Mexico and mechanic for Santa Fe Railroad. He would always have a story to tell you when you went to visit him. Ladiz enjoyed making wine from his home grown vineyard and harvesting pecans from his backyard trees. With his wife Mary by his side Ladiz enjoyed his retirement years.
You would often find Ladiz laughing and telling stories at family gatherings. Ladiz and Mary enjoyed their trips to local casinos, Laughlin or Las Vegas. He enjoyed playing games on his Kindle, watching old westerns on TV and scrolling through Facebook or cooking shows online. Ladiz was a dedicated family man who was happiest surrounded by his loving family.
Ladiz's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 10:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located at 1860 Griegos Road NW, 87107. Mass will begin at 11:00am.
