Leonard Louis Kadner passed away at home on June 9, 2025, in the presence of his daughter and caregivers.

Leonard is survived by his daughter Heather Friedle, grandson Riley Friedle, brother Steven Kadner, and his cat Charley.

He was born on May 26, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York, to Abraham and Esther Kadner. In 1963, he married the love of his life, Judith Urban, and they remained married until her death in 2024. Leonard was a geologist, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from CUNY Hunter College and his Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign. 

Throughout his life, Leonard lived all around the country, including New York, Arizona, and New Mexico. He also enjoyed a short stint as a screenwriter. Leonard’s hobbies included typewriter collecting, clock collecting, traveling the world, extensive reading and HAM Radio.
