Leonore Juanita Sanchez

Leonore Juanita Sanchez passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with her daughter by her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Jose Rafael Sanchez; grandchildren: Allan Sittingbull, Daniel Sittingbull, and Ricky Parra.

Leonore is survived by her brother Tony Castillo, children: Prescilla Sanchez, Richard Sanchez (Pat), Viola Parra, George Sanchez (Denise), and Susan Chavez (Javier), and Joe Sanchez.

She was born on February 23, 1932, she was 93 years old. Leonore enjoyed exercising, walking, gardening, cooking and spending time with the family. She loved her red enchiladas and fast food. Our mother had a green thumb for flowers (roses) and growing a vegetable garden.

Leonore was also a lifelong parishioner at the Church of the Ascension. She would walk to Church of the Ascension where she was devoted to The Legion of Mary Ministry and Perpetual Adoration.

Leonore's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 4:00pm at Catholic Church of the Ascension located at 2150 Raymac Road SW. Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Mass will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. also at Catholic Church of the Ascension. She will then be laid to rest at Pajarito Cemetery located at the intersection on Pajarito Rd SW and Coors Blvd SW.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Sanchez, Manny Gardner, Alex Sanchez, Sylvester Padilla, Marvin Paul, and Javier Chavez.
