Maria Teresa Minjares

Maria Teresa Minjares, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend (both by blood and in Christ), passed peacefully at home on Thursday, May 2, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.

Maria leaves behind her husband Amador Minjares, Sr., children: Maria Teresa Minjares, Amador Minjares, Jr., and their spouses, three grandchildren, one brother, and four sisters.

She was born April 5, 1954 in El Paso, Texas but called Albuquerque, New Mexico her home for many years. She was faithfully a part of the Neocatechumenal Way in both El Paso and Albuquerque.

Maria Teresa Minjares will live on, both in memory and the love showered to her family and friends and in the living lesson she gave the world every day on how to truly serve those in need.

Words cannot capture the full light of her spirit, but we humbly offer these words as a tribute. Teresa, you will be remembered, always, in our homes and hearts. Thank you for everything. We love you! Go Irish! ¡Dios te acompañe!

Maria's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 6:00pm at the Shrine of the Little Flower St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church located at 3424 4th St. NW, 87107. Rosary will be recited at 6:30pm. Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 9:00am also at Shrine of the Little Flower St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church. Maria will be laid to rest following the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery located at 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE, 87109. Reception will be held at 6:00pm inside St. Therese's Parish Hall.

Pallbearers will be Amador Minjares, Jr., Diego Amador Minjares, Sooraj Shekhar Bhatia, Samuel Kristian Velasco, Heleodoro Martinez, and Antonio Quintana.
