Obituary

Maria Magdalena "Maggie" Martinez, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 85 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ruben Martinez; parents Jose I. Sena and Socorro G. Sena; sisters: Lydia Martinez, Elma Warren, and brother John Sena.

Maggie is survived by her sons: Michael Martinez (Juanita), Jeffrey Martinez (Cathy), Richard Martinez (Melissa); four grandchildren: Michael, Joshua (Teresa), Regeena (Dominic), Leo (Deandra), great-grandchildren: Joaquin, Marcos, Isaac, Dante, Xavier, Santonio; sister Viola Sena Castro; brothers: Joe P. Sena (Christine), Essel Baca (Patricia), and Jimmy Sena (Coby).

Maggie was born on January 8, 1939 in La Loma, New Mexico. She moved to Albuquerque when she was in high school. She graduated from Albuquerque High. She married Rueben and they had three sons. She worked for several companies and a secretary. In addition to her love of arts and crafts, some of her hobbies included sewing, quilting, ceramics, and cooking. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and was a part of a small Christian Community, she also attended ACTS Retreat.

Maggie's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 6:00pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Reception will follow inside Salazar Mortuary's Life Event Center. Final Viewing will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 8:30am at St. Anne's Catholic Church located at 1400 Arenal Rd. SW. 87105. Mass will begin at 9:00am. Maggie will be laid to rest following the Mass in Anton Chico, NM at the Old Anton Chico Cemetery/ San Jose Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Martinez, Regeena Massa, Leo Martinez, Joaquin Martinez, Max Martinez, and Dominic Massa.
