Marsha I. Burda was welcomed home into the loving arms of our dear Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
She was reunited with her beloved husband Edward Burda, family dog Star who preceded her in 2012, as well as her brother Billy Huckaby.
She is survived by her mom Elvie Huckaby and Julie. As well as friends locally and across the country including: "brother" Donald Love and "sister" Marie Gignac whom she referred to as "my angels", Debra Love, John Love, "sister" Faye Foster, Margaret Pino, Amy Shafer, Linda McCoy, Neena Lorenzani, Louis and Gloria Salazar from Reflections Chapel, and countless others who supported and loved her.
Marsha served 20 years in the Army where she achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant- E6. As a Vietnam Veteran she was proud to have done her duty to defend the freedom of the citizens across this country. After her retirement from military service, she continued to work with the Veteran's Administration in Albuquerque as an administrative assistant where she touched the lives of many. She also worked with the residents at Manzano del Sol retirement community.
We know that she will be watching over us from above until we meet again in Heaven. Keep the Faith Marsha.
Marsha's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:30am at Reflections Chapel located at 2400 Washington St. NE, 87110. Service will begin at 11:30am. Marsha will then be laid to rest with Military honors at 2:00pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St., 87501.
