Mary “Rose” Padilla, born on September 25, 1950, in Espanola, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, in her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a cherished individual whose vibrant spirit and loving heart touched the lives of many.

Rose is survived by her husband Victor Saiz, children: Frank “Larry” Moncallo, Carmen Padilla, Henrietta Padilla, Henry Padilla, Victor Saiz, Mona Saiz, Reyna Sanchez-Tuttle. Also, grandchildren: Frank, Angel, Ruben, Joseph, Gabriel, Juanita, Chris, Leroy, Cheyanne, Valerie, Derrick, Thomas, Deserae, Julian, Caleb, Raymond, Nastasia, and Rose.

Rose was known for her deep devotion to family, reflecting a love that often took precedence over everything else. As a beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister, and Cousin, her family was the center of her universe, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being. Rose’s life was characterized by a profound faith, as she could be found listening to prayers throughout the day and engaging with the spiritual community as a devoted member of the 700 Prayer Club.

Alongside her love for family, friends, and Jesus, her cooking skills shine. From her mashed potatoes, which we never went without, to her breakfast burritos, her green chile stood out as a labor of love that brought comfort and warmth to every gathering.

Her interests brought joy and excitement to her daily life. Rose loved visiting the casino, where she poured her love and passion for winning into every game. She had a playful relationship with luck, often donning her beloved lucky red shirt, which she never won without. You could find her at the thrift stores which she frequented during the week, and cruising through town on the hunt for yard sales early Saturday mornings.

Rose’s willful personality will always be remembered by those who loved her. She was always one to do exactly as she pleased. From early morning cleaning, to late night calls, to just one more cigarette.

She savored family vacations, particularly her trips to Colorado Springs, where she visited her family. These moments were treasured, as they filled her heart with joy and strengthened the bonds of family that meant so much to her. An incredible person who gave tirelessly to others, Rose Padilla leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the light she brought into those she loved.
