Matthew Aaron Romero passed away at the age of 50 in his hometown on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his father Bruce Romero, and grandson Julian Alderete.
Matthew is survived by his daughters: Jasmine Alderete, Jade McCoy, and mother Carmela Romero.
He was born on February 19, 1975, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a cherished father, avid car enthusiast, and a man of faith. His life was a testament to the joy of simple pleasures and the enduring love for his family. Matthew's passion for working on cars was more than a hobby; it was a canvas for his creativity and mechanical ingenuity. He found solace under the hood of a car, where he could bring machines back to life with his skilled hands.
His love for culinary adventures was equally notable. He relished the experience of trying new foods at local restaurants, yet, no dish could ever compare to his mother's tortellini, which he declared was perfection on a plate. Matthew had a passion for hot air ballooning and treasured his annual trips to the Balloon Fiesta, where the beauty and stillness of the skies reflected his adventurous spirit and appreciation for God's creation.
Matthew’s enthusiasm for sports was equally infectious, with a particular devotion to the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs, turning game days into cherished gatherings filled with spirited cheer and lifelong memories. Above all, Matthew's most significant and cherished success was his daughters. They were the light of his life, and in them, he instilled values of kindness, perseverance, and the importance of finding joy in every day. He often said his daughters taught him more about love, strength, and pride than he ever imagined possible, calling them his greatest blessings. Matthew's approach to life was encapsulated by his desire for freedom, to love, to laugh, and to live authentically. He navigated life with a sense of humor, a generous heart, and an unyielding optimism that inspired those around him.
As we bid farewell to Matthew Aaron Romero, we celebrate a life lived with strength, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to the things that matter most.
