Melissa Alvarez, 49, entered Heaven on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Melissa is survived by her sons: Alec Candelaria (Mariah Duran), Trey Pope; parents Frank and Ilene Valtierra; brother Damon Alvarez (Zoe Ann); sister Crissy Baca; nephews: Damon Alvarez (Kaella), Jacob Pacilli (Rachel); nieces: Tina Baca (Phil Heller), Aubri Navarrette (Hunter), as well as great nieces, nephews and numerous cousins and friends.

Melissa was a beloved mom, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She devoted her life to raising her sons Alec and Trey, being their mom was her greatest joy. She was an avid sports fan spending countless hours watching her sons play baseball and football and supporting her Denver Broncos. Melissa enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known for her gregarious laugh. Melissa will be remembered for her kind heart, beautiful smile, and her love of animals, especially her beloved cats Diamond and Moonie.

Melissa's Life Celebration will begin with a Service on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 10:00 am at Bella Vista Baptist Church located at 2800 Louisiana Blvd NE, 87110. Melissa will be laid to rest following the Service at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery located at 924 Menaul Blvd NE, 87107.
