Michael A. Payne passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the age of 70.

He was preceded in death by his father Oscar "Mickey" Payne and mother Billie Payne.

Michael is survived by his wife Susan Payne; son Kris Payne, Jr.; daughter Kim Romero (Daniel); brothers: Gary Payne (Jackie), Jeff Payne (Florence); sister Helen Finley (Michael); seven grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and his "bonus family" the Cambaras.

Michael proudly served in Vietnam. He enjoyed all outdoor activities. He was especially fond of fishing. He was a most gentle man. He will be missed greatly.

Michael will be laid to rest on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 9:45am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
