Miranda Sanchez

Miranda Sanchez, born on October 17, 2004, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, in the city she called home.

She was preceded in death by her mom Amy Otero, grandpa Albino “Junior” Otero and many more family members whom she dearly loved and missed.

Miranda is survived by her dad Johnny Ray Sanchez and wife Jessica Decker-Sanchez; brothers Johnny Ray Sanchez Jr., Jeremiah Sanchez, grandparents Paula Sanchez and husband Johnny Sanchez, Goretti Perea and husband Paul Perea, auntie Charmaine Sanchez and husband Gabe Trujillo, uncle Paul Sanchez, as well as many cousins and friends.

She was a loving, creative, and intelligent young woman whose presence brought warmth, energy, and light to those around her. Miranda lived her life with independence and determination, and she carried herself with a quiet strength that inspired others. Miranda grew up in Albuquerque and developed a personality that reflected both tenderness and confidence. She was known for her kind heart, her creative spirit, and the thoughtful way she approached the world. She had a natural gift for making things beautiful, and her interests in arts and crafts allowed her imagination to shine. Whether she was working on a project, enjoying her favorite music, or caring for her plants, Miranda brought care and intention to everything she did. She had a great green thumb and took pride in nurturing plants, finding joy in watching them grow and thrive under her attention.

Music was an important part of Miranda’s life. She enjoyed country music and oldies, and those songs often matched the calm, sentimental, and cheerful parts of her personality. She also had a strong love for basketball and was a devoted Michael Jordan fan. Miranda loved the Bulls and admired the greatness, discipline, and legacy associated with the team and its legendary player. Her appreciation for Jordan was more than a passing interest. It was something she collected, celebrated, and carried with pride. She also collected Jordan shoes and money, reflecting both her style and her determination to build and enjoy the things she valued. 

Miranda had a deep appreciation for simple comforts and favorite foods that brought her happiness. She especially enjoyed noodles, chips, and salsa. These were the kinds of foods that suited her easygoing and genuine nature. One of the memorable milestones in her life was the first meal she cooked in her own apartment, which was tacos, beans, and rice. That meal reflected her independence and the pride she took in creating a home for herself. She was very independent and worked hard to do things on her own, always striving to move forward with confidence and purpose.

Among her proudest accomplishments was graduating from high school early. This achievement was a reflection of her intelligence, discipline, and determination to succeed. Miranda set goals for herself and met them with focus and perseverance. She was also proud of buying her own car, another meaningful step that demonstrated her independence and her ability to create a life through her own efforts. These accomplishments were not only personal victories, but also clear examples of the strength and maturity she showed throughout her life. 

Miranda will be remembered for the love she gave, the creativity she shared, and the intelligence she carried with her every day. She had a way of making others feel seen and appreciated, and her spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
