Norma Leticia Yanez, affectionately known as Gurru, departed this life on Friday, June 20, 2025, leaving behind a remarkable legacy and a host of cherished memories.

Norma was survived by her parents Erasmo Yañez and Manuela Trujillo; siblings: Marisol, Rudy, Adrian and Nincy; nephews and nieces: Eddie, Ruby, Brianna, Ivan, Elijah, Rudy, Julius, Anjuliet, Al’xnder, Amiel, Destiny, Cynthia, Natalia; first great-niece Issa Malu.

She was born on November 22, 1991, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From her early years, Norma exemplified a spirit that was larger than life. She was known for her great heart and huge personality, qualities that shone brightly despite her petite stature. Her laughter was infectious, and her playful demeanor brought joy to those fortunate enough to share in her company. Norma's enthusiasm for life was evident in her hobbies; she relished the simple pleasures of playing with her hands and the hands of others, as well as her fondness for textures and plushies. Her love for laughter was enhanced by her candid and often colorful language, which became trademark elements of her vibrant personality.

A proud resident of Albuquerque her entire life, Norma treasured being surrounded by her family. To her, time spent with loved ones was akin to a well-deserved vacation, a testament to the strong connections she fostered throughout her life. Her commitment to her family was driven by a profound purpose: to make her parents happy, a goal she pursued with unwavering determination.

Norma achieved a significant milestone in her journey by successfully completing high school, a feat she regarded as a key testament to her perseverance and dedication to living a happy life. She maintained a strict routine, which reflected her disciplined approach to daily living and her desire to make the most out of each day.

As we remember Norma Leticia Yanez, we celebrate her joyful spirit, her love for life, and the positive impact she had on those around her. Gurru's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at Salazar Mortuary located on 400 Third St SW, 87102. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final Viewing will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. also at Salazar Mortuary. Service will begin at 1:00 p.m.
