Patrick Worthington Lowe finished his race on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at home with his wife, Diane.
Patrick leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Diane Lowe; sister in-law Priscilla Neeley; sons: Ian Lowe, Ryan Lowe; their wives: Kerri, Christina; beloved grandchildren: Jaden, AJ, William, Catey, and Jon, to whom he was known as “Dad-dad.” He also leaves behind many close friends and countless lives touched by his devotion, encouragement, and faithfulness.
A man of many talents, Pat grew up in El Paso as the only child of Robert and Tippy Lowe. As a young man, Pat was an acclaimed dancer and excelled in martial arts. An excellent student, he graduated from University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and went on to become an advertising executive in El Paso.
Pat met Diane, and they were married in Carlsbad before spending time in San Francisco like any good hippies would. Eventually, Pat traded in his gi and bell-bottom jeans for running shoes. He loved the trails and competed in ultramarathons across the western United States, most notably the Leadville Trail 100 and the Western States Endurance Run.
In 1989, Pat and Diane moved to Albuquerque with their young family to be closer to the mountains and to accept a position as Creative Director at a local advertising agency. He later founded Patrick Lowe Creative, where he wrote, produced, and directed projects for dozens of local businesses as well as Sandia National Laboratories. Pat never truly retired.
In his early forties, Pat accepted Jesus and began a ministry that continued until his final day. Over the years he served as a chaplain, discipler, counselor, Bible study leader, evangelist, and volunteer at numerous Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Franklin Graham crusades.
In the early 2010s, glaucoma gradually took Pat’s eyesight, eventually leaving him blind. His ministry changed, but it never ended. Using speak-to-text technology, he began writing daily devotionals that he shared with people across the country. Even in his final weeks, he continued sending out his daily devotionals whenever he was able, while counseling and encouraging friends and family over the phone.
Pat maintained his physical strength and discipline with daily workouts well into his later months. Even during rehabilitation, he consistently asked for physical therapy whenever he was able. Days before his passing, he prayed with the two hospice nurses caring for him, thanking the Lord for their compassion during his final season.
This man of many talents was found faithful by his Master and heard the words every servant of Christ longs to hear as he entered the presence of God:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
