December 14, 1932 — November 28, 2024

Pauline Pate, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 91.

Pauline was preceded in death by the love of her life Jay-bo Pate; loving daughter Debbie Tudesque; loving son Orlando Sandoval; brothers: Ned, Benny; sisters: Michelle, Helen; and many other dear family members.

Pauline is survived by her children: Patsi, son-in-law George, Michael (Jean), brother Ray (Joann), sister Hazel and Goddaughter Kathleen (Mike). Pauline also leaves behind dearly loved nieces, nephews, beloved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Wendy (Ben), Damian, Nicole (Martin), Ashley (Ryan), Stasia (Bryce), Serina (Wayne), Stormi, Sergio, Liam, Isabella, Liliana, Martin Jr, Orlando, Bradley, Silas, Amelie, Joseph and a great-great granddaughter on the way.

Pauline was born to parents, Raymundo and Tomasita Lopez on December 14, 1932, in the small town of San Marcial, New Mexico. Pauline's life was a tapestry of love, service, and the simple joys of homemaking. Pauline's passion for cooking and baking was the heart of every family gathering, her homemade tortillas and enchiladas, a cherished tradition. She found solace and joy in the rhythmic dance of her crochet hook, creating countless pieces that warmed both body and soul. Her home in Albuquerque, which she lovingly maintained for 65 years, was a testament to her dedication to her family and the life she built with them.

A devout follower of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pauline's faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and she found strength and comfort in her devotion to St. Jude and St. Lucia. Her spirituality was a quiet, steady force that inspired those around her. She prayed for all who were in need.

Pauline's zest for life extended beyond the walls of her home and into the lanes of the local bowling alley when she was younger, even earning a trophy that she was so proud of. She loved attending Silver Sneakers, taking her walks around the block and doing her daily “stretchies” with her Michael. She enjoyed encouraging others to exercise and taught all who wanted to learn about her stretchies, keeping a good count, “one, two, three, four” all the while. Pauline also loved singing and dancing to her favorite song La Reina De Mi Amor.

Professionally, Pauline took great pride in her work at the Department of Labor for the state, considering her job a significant accomplishment and a means to serve others. Her colleagues remember her as a pillar of reliability and kindness.

Pauline's sense of style was impeccable. She was a classy and well-groomed woman, whose humility and genuineness never went unnoticed. To describe her as loving, selfless, and thoughtful would only scratch the surface of the profound impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her.

Pauline's purpose in life was to serve, and serve she did, with every act of kindness and every delicious meal she shared. Her legacy is one of unconditional love and the countless lives she touched with her gentle spirit. Pauline Pate will be deeply missed, yet her memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to all.
