Phillip A. Tapia went home to the Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his father Meliton Vigil; grandparents Monica and Trinidad Velasquez; and father-in-law Avilio Castillo.
Phillip is survived by his mother Lizzie Vigil; daughter Lauren; son Phillip and girlfriend Desiree; mother of his children whom he loved Liz Tapia; sister Dora; nephews: Chris, Jeremiah; also his niece Angelica.
Phillip Tapia was born April 28, 1959 In Albuquerque, NM.
He graduated from Valley high school in 1977. He was a proud Navy veteran. He was a hard worker with 38 years of employment at Thomas and Betts.
Phillip was a devoted father and a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
Phillip's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 5:30pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Mass will take place on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Shrine of the Little Flower St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church located at 300 Mildred Ave NW, 87107 at 9:00 am. Phillip will be laid to rest at 2:15 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemeterylocated at 501 N Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, 87501.
Due to the Governor's COVID restrictions set in place masks are MANDATORY to attend Phillip's Visitation, Mass, and Burial. Salazar Mortuary has a capacity of 10 people allowed inside the funeral home at one time. We ask that attendees wait INSIDE of their vehicles until we are ready to escort the next group of 10 inside. Shrine of the Little Flower St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church has a capacity of 150 people. Santa Fe National Cemetery is only allowed to have 5 people to be in the committal shelter and asks that all attendees practice social distancing.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Tapia, Phillip Pacheco, Felipe Mendez, Albert Otero, Salvador Wayne, and Robert Vigil.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jeremiah Valtierra, Ronnie Carrasco, Dennis Trujillo, and Luis Rodriguez.
